We have to remember etiquette in relation to the event or the winemaker's invitation to you and yours!
PACE
Heard the expression, "pick up the pace"? Well, it does NOT apply at a wine tasting! Do not mute those senses by overindulgence! . If visiting multiple vineyards, no more than two glasses at your first stop. If in a private setting, remember you want to be invited back. (Unless you are just such a rebel, then wine tastings are not your thing. You will be better suited for a college football tailgate!)

Swirl the wine, it releases aromas, and sniff before drinking.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Open your mind and your nose and keep learning while staying within those four corners if you will!

Leave the side conversations for after. Focus is key to learning about wine and enjoying the experience. Be rested because that quad espresso is not going to save you at the event and you will kill your taste buds!
TO DISCARD OR NOT TO DISCARD OF THE WINE DANS LA BOUCHE
It’s actually OK for people to spit directly into the pour bucket. Don’t take offense.
NO GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL
Even if you sophisticatedly spitting into the "pour bucket", arrange for transportation afterward. Who knows which "happy law enforcement officer" you will get wherever you are in the world and certainly having alcohol on the breath can leave to unnecessary detours afterwards and in life!
